The action of this scenario takes place in the north of the country - that is on the Cape Bon more exactly: in the settlement well-known through all the Tunisia - in El Haoaria. Antique quarries where stones for the construction works at the gorgeous Colosseum of El Jem have been extracted from.
Our teams are to participate in a competition on the extraction of stones for a small copy of the real Colosseum. Each team receives necessary tools and equipment: gloves, saws, chisels; and that is the field of the work. Then, the extracted stone should be transported by handcarts to the place of construction. The work is done according the blue-prints and every team has its own fragment of a magnificent edifice to build up.
The team which will be the first to finish the task has advantage over its rivals - it is the first one to begin the next step of the competition: searching for treasures of the Barbarossa pirates. The history of these famous pirates is traced to the 16th cent., when Andaluzian Moors have landed on the territory of Tunisia - there were Barbarian pirates and the most famous among them were the Barbarossa brothers received their sonorous name thanks to their prominent red beards (in Spain barba means beard and rossa - red). According a legend, one of the brothers being fantastically rich has dug in a glut of treasures in one of the caves of El Haoaria.
The teams have a complicated task: to find these treasures in one of a thousand of caves. A reference point for them will be a visible sign - a stone camel in the centre of a cave under which the treasures are hidden.
Winners take the treasures and have a right to hoist a flag of their team over the "Colosseum" built by general efforts. According the desire of a client there could be corporative souvenirs or any other promotional gifts from the heads of their company as "treasures".
In the second half of the day participants are invited as spectators for a unique performance -falconry.
The art of bringing hunting birds up is almost completely disappeared in Europe but Tunisian falconers keep this ancient tradition. Annually there is the Festival of Falconry in El Haoaria. In June, 2007, there will be the 41 Festival. Birds of prey are hunting for rabbits. All the performance takes place at the open air under the rumble of drums; the hunting is available for observation on the specially set monitors.
In the end of this fascinating day a group visits a unique fish restaurant "Dorado" situated on the beach with a perfect panoramic sea-view. They offer a magnificent assortment of sea-fruits and fish for gourmet. And if you are fond of sea-urchins, this unique delicacy will be extracted from the sea deep just before your eyes. Bon appetite!
